|Luis Miguel has five Grammys, four Latin Grammys and numerous other awards to his name, but you might not know it because the global superstar is a pro at eschewing media attention.
Miguel’s fondness for privacy is why, for several years, he chose to lease, instead of buy, a super-private mansion set behind walls, a gate and thick foliage. He recently moved out of the home at 929 Stone Canyon Rd, Los Angeles, CA 90077 to find another lease. Meanwhile, the owner has put the Bel-Air property on the market with a $5.895 million price tag.
The lush landscaping that served as a barrier to paparazzi is also one of the selling points of the new for-sale listing, according to real estate agent Eduardo Umansky of The Agency. Umansky shares the listing with Mauricio Umansky, his son.
“The lush and incredible front yard is by far one of the best features of the home,” said Umansky. “That and the master bedroom with its outdoor terrace looking into the yard.”
Property records show that the current owner purchased the home in 1997 for $1.8 million. Umansky said the home is currently “being restored to its original beauty” in Miguel’s absence. The 5,200-square-foot home was originally built in 1979.
Traditional with an art-deco feel, the home features an entertainment-centric floor plan with a large formal living room and customized bar. The home has 5 bedrooms including staff quarters behind the kitchen. The yard has a pool, extensive patio space and fire pit.
