|Chances are Evan Goldberg has made you laugh — probably even belly laugh. But unlike the hilarious scenes of “Superbad,” “Knocked Up,” “The Guilt Trip” and his other hit comedies, the film producer’s house is no joke; it’s a serious and stately slice of Los Angeles real estate.
A 1920s estate, Goldberg’s home boasts classic Spanish architecture with tasteful upgrades. The Canada native has owned the 3,009-square-foot residence for just over a year and is now hoping to rent it out for $11,000 a month.
Located at 1627 N Orange Grove Ave, Los Angeles, CA 90046, the 4-bedroom, 3.5-bath home is set back from the street with a gated and hedged entrance. Inside, high ceilings, archways, a fireplace and built-ins have been beautifully maintained, while the kitchen and baths have been updated with contemporary finishes.
The backyard has a lush, tropical feel with palm trees shading a pool and lawn area. A fountain, organic vegetable garden and outdoor fireplace are also highlights.
It’s unclear whether Goldberg will move back into the place. For now, he’s focused on “Townies,” his next film scheduled to hit theaters in 2014.
The listing is held by Coldwell Banker‘s Alexandria Brunkhorst. A guest house on the property is also available and can be negotiated into the rental price.
